The debut collection from Maisie Culver, screenwriter of '80s Satanic Panic TV show HYSTERIA!
Includes an introduction by Jamie Flanagan, screenwriter of Netflix's Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher, and more.
Of Monsters and Menses is a collection of short stories that are comedic, feminist, batsh*t takes on classic horror monsters as told by five women hiding in a bar bathroom from a guy who’s a total creep, or maybe something worse...
Maisie Culver is an award-winning screenwriter who grew up in a house that was exorcised twice and wrote her dissertation on 1980s horror movies. In television, she’s sold pilots to Disney, Warner Bros. and The CW and has written for Peacock’s Hysteria!, SyFy’s Day of the Dead and ABC and FOX’s Last Man Standing. In features, her debut, Hugh Jackman Stole My Husband, won ScreenCraft’s Horror competition and she’s developed with DreamWorks, Blumhouse and Catchlight Studios among others. Of Monsters and Menses is her first book. So if you don’t like it, it’s fine. She’ll just cry.
