A new collection of short stories by bestselling author Nat Cassidy has received a rave review from modern horror literature’s biggest legend, Stephen King. I Know A Place is a collection of short stories that will be published by Shortwave Publishing on May 5th. The collection includes Cassidy’s novella Rest Stop, a 2024 Bram Stoker Award finalist, as well as a number of other new original stories.
“These stories are f*cking great. They rule. So read them,” King wrote in a rave review of the collection.
This is Cassidy’s first collection of short stories and thus far, the response has been overwhelming, as it is currently one of the Top Ten Most Requested Books on NetGalley, and remains the #1 Most Requested in Horror. Since the announcement of the collection, the response has been incredibly positive, signaling an exciting upcoming release for Cassidy on the heels of his most recent novel, When The Wolf Comes Home, a USA Today bestseller and a Goodreads Choice Award nominee.
I Know A Place can be described as a travelogue, leading readers to the dark places of the world where the light doesn’t seem to reach. From the iconic empty gas station rest stop littered with googly eyes, to a tech millionaire’s haunted kitchen, to a yoga retreat in the middle of the desert, Cassidy acts as a guide through terrifying detours.
With horror legend Ramsey Campbell’s hailing of Cassidy as a “master of creeping fear, of urban unease, of uncanny dread and outright horror,” I Know A Place promises to be just that: “f*cking great.”
I Know A Place: Rest Stop and Other Dark Detours is available for pre-order now everywhere books are sold.
