New Deal Announcement – DEATHREALM: SPIRITS

New Deal Announcement - DEATHREALM: SPIRITS

Today we are announcing a deal to publish Deathrealm: Spirits, a horror anthology edited by Stephen Mark Rainey.

Deathrealm: Spirits features new ghostly stories from genre legends Joe R. Lansdale, Brian Keene, Eric LaRocca, and many more.

This anthology is being curated and edited by Stephen Mark Rainey, there will not be an open submissions period, nor will there be any crowdfunding campaigns. Pre-orders, a cover reveal, and additional featured authors will all be announced ahead of the October 2023 release date.

Deathrealm was, for several years, the leading small-press horror magazine in the United States. In 1995, it won the International Horror Critics Award for best horror magazine. And in spring of 1996, issue #27 was “banned” in Canada when it was stopped by Customs on the grounds the cover art was too “disturbing”.

Deathrealm was edited by Stephen Mark Rainey and published from 1987 to 1997.

We here at Shortwave are extremely honored to publish another chapter in Deathrealm‘s ongoing history.
