Horror DNA recently posted their review covering the first two books in the Larkin Day Mystery Series, Ode to Murder and Like, Subscribe, and Murder.
They gave four stars to each book, saying:
Dieker’s prose is tight, sharp, witty, and enjoyable. Her novels are self-referential, fun, and with a keen eye for tropes inherent in detective fiction and horror both; the sense of isolation, a killer closing in, and confusion. Dieker gets to the heart of rot and corruption under the fine arts, the scariness of what lurks in “nice” communities and behind pleasant smiles.
The mysteries are well put together and fun… packed with some scares, thrills, and a fantastic cast.
